dot_fennel12 pm next day: I'm at work. This morning I had to pile the CDs even
higher against the wall so the comic-book boxes could be slid out and
onto the bed, and the bookshelf wiggled back away from the dresser. As a
result, I am wearing clothes.
I drew out a diagram of the room which, though not scaled exactly right,
has dramatized the need for me to put my "fragile" items -- mostly piles
of things that I'm afraid to disturb because there's subtle organization
within them, like how all the mail I actually need to deal with is
sandwiched between books I'm actually reading right now -- into a
smaller amount of floor. Otherwise, the coming bookshelf installation
and CD repatriation will involve a lot of back- and shoulder-wrecking
contortion.
