Tower clearance
Dec. 6th, 2006 09:13 amTower Records in Harvard Square has gotten to 60% off in its clearance
sale, which means even the most ridiculously-priced domestic CDs are $7,
and formerly-$30 imports are $12.
It's pretty well picked over (disguised poorly by importing lots of worthless crap from the warehouse), but a little searching turned up good stuff. They had a stack of Mr. Lif's new album for $2, Thom Yorke's solo record for $8, and the first few Kid Creole albums for $5ish. There was also a lot of good abstract-y stock left in the Electronic/Dance section, and tons of Amy X Neuberg & Men.
The TV/movie DVDs were looking sad; the music DVDs in the back, less so. Worth sticking your head in the door if you're nearby. Plus, I get a perverse kick out of the mellow indie music they used to play in the store being replaced by a Big Brother-like voice on the PA, exhorting me to buy more! save more! That might just be me.
