I don't know if it was ever funny to name a studio record Live From
Your Mom's House or whatever, but it's getting so old that I almost
don't perceive it as a joke anymore, at which point I guess it's
unobjectionable.
Part 2 is in New Flesh, a British hip-hop trio that may not benefit at all from UK rap's ascendance (they aren't "grime") but who've made a few good albums. He never seemed very interesting as a producer/DJ in that context, and in fact the tracks here with vocals by his New Flesh cohorts don't stand out. The reggae-crossover tracks sung by Sandra Melody, on the other hand, are eminently crankable. I wish the Big Dada crew as a whole would get it back together a little more; they were a big part of me getting into hip-hop four or five years ago.
