Atom & His Package: one guy with a sequencer. I saw him play, once, and though he played vestigial guitar on a few songs, mostly he just sang and bounced a tennis ball. The fact that I liked it anyway permanently removed my fear that in Atom I was falling for a novelty act.

Live recording from his final show, though? Idea kind of dicey; if it didn't come with a DVD of the performance and cost about what an Atom concert does anyway, this would be toooooo unnecessary.

So okay, I'm on the couch watching the DVD. Atom's singing along with the music his sequencer plays. The crowd, many of whom seem to be 14, are also singing along. This is a very well-documented show, as rock concerts held in church basements go; it looks like at least four people filmed it, with one of them mostly watching the audience.

Then I notice I'm singing along too. These songs have an author but not an owner. Between Atom's genially dorky attitude and his working methods, no instance exists of an Atom & His Package song being sung except as a sing-along.
